Why We Built This Site
Public access in Texas depends on both the record and its custodian. The Austin County Sheriff's Office maintains its arrest, booking, jail, and warrant material. Court clerks preserve filed charges, docket events, judgments, and dispositions. The Texas Department of Public Safety operates the statewide criminal-history repository, while correctional and registry records use separate state systems. We bring the verified request steps, fees, official search links, and agency contacts together so those boundaries are easier to follow.
What You Will Find Here

- Record guides: practical help searching and reading Austin County court case files
- Record relief information: an overview of Texas expunction and nondisclosure, including where petitions are filed
- Official check instructions: the differences between Texas Department of Public Safety name and fingerprint processes
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource, not part of a Texas court, law-enforcement agency, or state office. Its role has firm limits:
- We do not issue certified court documents, criminal histories, or rap sheets
- We cannot provide legal advice about a charge, case, or record-relief option
- We do not submit public-records requests, expunction petitions, or other filings for visitors
- We cannot retrieve a person's record or perform an official background check
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, or phone number has not recently changed
An official record must come from its government custodian, such as the sheriff, the appropriate court clerk, or the Texas Department of Public Safety. This resource identifies those offices but does not issue their documents.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate the search boxes found on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports free access to this resource. We neither set the provider's charges nor determine which records appear in its response.
